North Quay is a small locality in Brisbane’s central business district running along the Brisbane River from a crossing near Makerston Street to the top of the Queen Street. Comprising the Conrad Treasury Casino, it spans over the Ann Street north of Brisbane Square to Queens Gardens. On the river, at North Quay, a riverside bikeway has been built leading to the University of Queensland and the western suburbs from the Victoria Bridge.
The location has a historical importance being the landing point during the first European exploration of the river in 1823. In 1825 with the relocation of the Moreton Bay penal colony at Redcliffe, the first permanent European settlement came into existence in the state of Queensland.

But several of its neighbors – Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal – are also growing at attractive rates, an industry insider told a conference here this month. At the ICIS India Base Oils & Lubricants Conference on April 5, Gulf Oil Lubricants India Ltd. Managing Director Ravi Chawla said lube demand in all three countries is growing due to economic expansion, growing vehicle parcs and investment in infrastructure. Expansion of the country’s power grid is expected to help drive growth in Bangladesh’s lubricant market. Bangladesh is the biggest of the three markets, with annual lube demand of 73,000 metric tons, Gulf estimates.
